Field-Bred Puppies--Hunt Tests, Field Trials, Obedience, Search
and Rescue, and Agility--**
Puppies from past pairings of these two have
produced offspring that are successful in many venues, including
field trials, hunt tests, obedience, search and rescue,
agility, tracking, hunting, and pets. Dreya and Otter
both possess wonderful temperaments but are hard driving, competitive
Goldens with great intensity and structurally sound. This is
a perfect litter for anyone looking for that special Golden
to be part of your home but still wanting an extremely trainable
and competitive dog. Puppies will be gold to dark gold/red in
color and should weigh approximately 55-65 lbs. as adults. Otter
is one of the top Golden males and Dreya is one of the top Golden
females currently competing in the nation.
Otter [FC AFC OTCH FTCH AFTCH Can MOTCH
TNT's Stanley Steamer UDX, WCX, MH, OBHF, FDHF, OS x Satchabrat
(full sibling to FC/AFC Steeplehill Ranger)] is a great performance
dog: extremely stylish, birdy, and athletic. He has the personality
that makes him a favorite around the house and training grounds,
and when it comes to field work he is all in, especially on
his water entries! He does extremely well in competition. Within
a year, he became a Master Hunter, became Qualified All-Age,
and earned a JAM in a 89-dog Open. He has all-age points;
he earned a 2nd place at the Bluebonnet Open the first week
of April 2015, earned JAMs in Opens, a Reserve JAM in the Amateur
and won the Open at the 2015 Golden Retriever National Specialty.
He was a 2015 National Qualifier and finished the 5th series
at Nationals. He needs the all-breed win for his FC title and
has the All-Breed win for his AFC!! He is consistently making
it to the last series of the Open. His puppies show excellent
potential--very birdy, hard-driving, biddable, obedient, water
crazy, and quick learning. They are currently training/competing
in hunt tests, field trials, tracking, obedience, and agility,
besides having excellent reports back as great hunting companions.
Dreya [AFC OTCH Topbrass Caleb UDX OM2
x Topbrass FJ-40 MH] is also an all-around dog that is one
of the few QA2 MH WCX Golden females in the nation!!!
She has excellent line manners and is extremely birdy. She has
earned two Qualifying first places, earned her Master Hunter
title, earned Derby points and passed her Working Class Excellent
(WCX). She does well at triple retrieves on land and water marks,
blinds, and honoring. She is currently training for Amateur
and Open All-Age stakes. Dreya is calm and steady when on the
line, but has strong desire and drive to retrieve the birds.
Perfect combination for a Golden!!!

The puppy price is $3200
(plus Minnesota and county sales tax) and reflects
the quality of breeding; the resources we have invested
in training, trialing, and testing our dogs; our continual
attention to health clearances; and improvement of our
breeding stock. We strive for quality--carefully selecting
our breedings. We will do our best to steer you to the
breeding that will best meet your needs; our breedings
are geared towards all-purpose dogs, but because
of the various characteristics and genetics of our dogs,
some of our breedings may
lend themselves to being extremely strong field trial
litters.We require a deposit
of $300 to reserve puppies in advance of whelping or after
litter is born to ensure you are on the final list.
Puppies are ready to go
home at 7 weeks. The puppies we sell are AKC registered
with the "Thunderstruck" prefix. Puppies are
sold under limited registration until buyers have proof
of health clearances for hip, elbow, heart, and eyes,
at which time full registration will be transferred. See
puppy warranty link for more information.
Our puppies are carefully raised: receiving
neurological stimulation, well-balanced socialization,
and exposure to birds and crates. They are individually
stimulated daily from 3-16 days. As they grow they will
be problem-solving, playing, interacting with people of
all ages, exercising, and beginning retrieving when ready.
We are true believers of the benefits of early individual
stimulation and socialization to maximize puppy potential.
These puppies will act as if they have been
part of your home from the moment they transition from our
home to yours. Pups experiencing these early benefits grow
into mature, well-adjusted adult dogs. Before leaving Thunderstruck
Retrievers, we do final testing and evaluating of our puppies
using behavioral methods to best determine which puppies
match with which prospective homes and to make final puppy
We feel strongly about placing puppies in
homes that best match their behaviors, personalities, and
potential rather than having a "pick of the litter"
system. Because of the stimulation, socialization, and exposure
all of our puppies recieve from an early age, starting at
Day 3, all puppies are highly desirable. We place puppies
at approximately 6 1/2 weeks of age after observations and
Puppy Aptitude Testing that analyzes areas such as retrieving,
sensitivity, dominance, etc.; thus, it is important for
clients to fill out the puppy application in its entirety
and give us as much information as you can. We want you
to be happy with the puppy we place in your home.
Choosing the right puppy for you is an important
decision that lasts the life time of the dog and we are
available to ensure you have the information you need to
make that choice. We would like to give you as much information
as possible and answer any questions you have. You may also
fill out and submit a puppy application form. Another useful
reference in your choice is the Golden
Retriever Club of America.
a Thunderstruck puppy????
We are here to ensure that you receive
the highest quality puppy with the healthiest start possible.
Not only have we bought our own dogs out of proven stock,
but we have continued that tradition by actively training
our dogs and competing/testing/hunting with them.
Because we are active constantly in social,
as well as working situations, with all of our dogs, we
know their personalities and abilities. We use this knowledge
when breeding, rather than just their pedigrees. We have
a limited number of litters each year because our dogs
are not just used for breeding.
We have benefitted from breeders before
us that have developed methods which have sent puppies
to our home that immediately fit into our family and are
eager to learn. Because we have had this experience first
hand, we value that when sending a puppy to your home.
When a confident, friendly, lovable, crazy-to-retrieve
puppy arrives the first day and acts like it has never
known anything different, it is an amazing experience!
You will know that it has the start it needs to become
a well-adjusted adult dog that you can enjoy for years.
We will make sure your puppy has socialization
every day, has been introduced to birds and retrieving,
and learns how to play. We want it to be ready to become
a part of your family. We also know the value of health
clearances and DNA testing. Our puppy warranty is our
guarantee that you will have a healthy companion. We have
a 26-month guarantee (hip, elbow, eye, and cardiac) since
some of the final clearances can not be done until 2 years
of age. For your own reference, these are the testing
