Rosie x Forman Litter

**Excellent Field-Bred Puppies--Field Trials, Hunt Tests, Agility, SAR, Tracking, Hunting, Service Dogs, and Pets--

Breeding is expected to take place in the spring of 2018 with puppies born in early summer and going home in July 2018.

We chose this breeding to produce outstanding field-bred puppies that will have high desire and a lot of go!! Rosie and Forman are both hard-going retrievers that love the game! Rosie is out of our Bailey x Otter, so this is going to be a great combination of talent, drive, and trainability. Two of the main influences to the litter are AFC Cayman's Rum Point Red FDHF OS and Topbrass Satcha Maurader MH OD, a breeding that produced many very competitive offspring.

These puppies should be extremely suitable for many venues!! They will be extremely eager and intense. Rosie and Forman both go hard and do well competively. Because of the strong desire and drive that they both have, we are very excited for this litter as we feel it will produce puppies that competitive people will love to own and train, but will definitely be a great fit for hunting/pet homes that want a talented hunting dog with an on/off switch. These puppies will be dark gold (red) in color and weigh approximately 55-60 lbs. as adults.

Litter Highlights

Forman [FC AFC Steeplehill Ranger OS FDHF x Topbrass Dixie Chick MH WCX OD] is a great performance dog with exceptional marking ability, winning the Open at the National Golden Retriever Specialty in 2016. As a 6-month-old he was able to do 250-300 yard marks and earned his junior hunt title the weekend he turned 7 months and became Qualified All-Age at 2 1/2. His strong suits, besides his marking, are his athleticism and intense drive--he loves to retrieve and train! At the same time he is extemely easy to have around the house and yard and loves people. He is currently competing in Open and Amateur competitions. He is competitive in all-breed trials, earning a JAM in an 89-dog Open in Morris, MN!! He is an extremely strong field trial dog and passes that on to his puppies.

Rosie [Thunderstruck Like None Otter MH WCX *** x Saturday Night Goldtop Baileys Comet MH WCX] loves to retrieve and goes extremely hard on the way to the bird and on the way back. She always wants more birds! She has earned a Derby 4th place and 2 JAMS, her Working Class Excellent (WCX) title, and and has three passes towards her Senior Hunter title. She is an extremely competitive young Golden. She also has that Golden personality with an on/off switch we expect of all our Goldens. Her personality makes her fun to handle when on the line in competition or hunting because she has so much desire and drive. She is extremely athletic with a medium build. A wonderful little retriever!

We expect these puppies to be intense retrievers; great markers; and exceptional hunting companions, while still being extremely trainable, sociable, and loving. Both Rosie and Forman are fun to handle because they both posses that strong desire and drive.

All puppies come with the following:

Individual neurological stimulation from 3 to 16 days Dew claws removed

Price and Deposit

The puppy price is $2900 (plus Minnesota and county sales tax) and reflects the quality of breeding; the resources we have invested in training, trialing, and testing our dogs; our continual attention to health clearances; and improvement of our breeding stock. We strive for quality--carefully selecting our breedings. We will do our best to steer you to the breeding that will best meet your needs; our breedings are geared towards all-purpose dogs, but because of the various characteristics and genetics of our dogs, some of our breedings may lend themselves to being extremely strong field trial litters. We require a deposit of $300 to reserve puppies in advance of whelping or after litter is born to ensure you are on the final list.

Puppies are ready to go home at 7 weeks. The puppies we sell are AKC registered with the "Thunderstruck" prefix. Puppies are sold under limited registration until buyers have proof of health clearances for hip, elbow, heart, and eyes, at which time full registration will be transferred at no additional cost from Thunderstruck Retrievers--we just want healthy offspring to be produced! See puppy warranty link for more information. All puppies will be DNA tested for Ichthyosis since both parents are carriers, and new owners will be notified of puppy status.

Puppy Buyer Information

Our puppies are carefully raised: receiving early neurological stimulation, well-balanced socialization, and exposure to birds and crates. They are individually stimulated daily from 3-16 days. As they grow they will be problem-solving, playing, interacting with people of all ages, exercising, and beginning retrieving when ready. We are true believers of the benefits of early individual stimulation and socialization to maximize puppy potential.

These puppies will act as if they have been part of your home from the moment they transition from our home to yours. Pups experiencing these early benefits grow into mature, well-adjusted adult dogs. Before leaving Thunderstruck Retrievers, we do final testing and evaluating of our puppies using behavioral methods to best determine which puppies match with which prospective homes and to make final puppy placements.

We feel strongly about placing puppies in homes that best match their behaviors, personalities, and potential rather than having a "pick of the litter" system. Because of the stimulation, socialization, and exposure all of our puppies recieve from an early age, starting at Day 3, all puppies are highly desirable. We place puppies at approximately 6 1/2 weeks of age after observations and Puppy Aptitude Testing that analyzes areas such as retrieving, sensitivity, dominance, etc.; thus, it is important for clients to fill out the puppy application in its entirety and give us as much information as you can. We want you to be happy with the puppy that we place in your home.

Choosing the right puppy for you is an important decision that lasts the life time of the dog and we are available to ensure you have the information you need to make that choice. We would like to give you as much information as possible and answer any questions you have. You may also fill out and submit a puppy application form. Another useful reference in your choice is the Golden Retriever Club of America.

Why buy a Thunderstruck puppy????

We are here to ensure that you receive the highest quality puppy with the healthiest start possible. Not only have we bought our own dogs out of proven stock, but we have continued that tradition by actively training our dogs and competing/testing/hunting with them.

We are active constantly in social, as well as working situations, with all of our dogs, so we are able to constantly assess their personalities and abilities. We use this knowledge when breeding, rather than just their pedigrees. We have a limited number of litters from each of our females because our dogs are not just used for breeding.

We have benefitted from breeders before us that have developed methods which have sent puppies to our home that immediately fit into our family and are eager to learn. Because we have had this experience first hand, we value that when sending a puppy to your home. When a confident, friendly, lovable, crazy-to-retrieve puppy arrives the first day and acts like it has never known anything different, it is an amazing experience! You will know that it has the start it needs to become a well-adjusted adult dog that you can enjoy for years.

We will make sure your puppy has socialization every day, has been introduced to birds and retrieving, and learns how to play. We want it to be ready to become a part of your family. We also know the value of health clearances and DNA testing. Our puppy warranty is our guarantee that you will have a healthy companion. We have a 26-month guarantee (hip, elbow, and cardiac) since some of the final clearances can not be done until 2 years of age.

For your own reference, these are the testing ages:

Any age--Eye clearances and DNA testing prcd-PRA, PRA1, Ichthyosis

12 months--Cardiac and Thyroid clearances

24 months--Hip and Elbow dysplasia
